Stan Suther's Real Estate and Stuff

Today a friend shared some barbecue and Brunswick stew at lunch time from his home church in Mt. Pleasant, NC.  It was typically good NC barbecue, something North Carolinians rightfully crow about.  It reminded me that we have a more local opportunity to get some good church barbecue coming up this Thursday, November 13 at the 60th annual Coddle Creek ARP Barbecue.  My wife, Susan, gave me strict orders to head over there on Thursday to pick up enough for short term eating and freezing for upcoming family dinners.  It is always nice to visit Coddle Creek ARP Church (2297 Coddle Creek Hwy.).  I have neighbors who attend and tell me interesting things about this old church.  The current building dates back to 1884, and the congregation goes back to around 1753.  You will not find a more picturesque old church building, and you will not find better barbecue anywhere.  They start the cooking process at 7:00 AM the day before, and it cooks all day.  Having done this for 59 years already, I expect they have this “down pat.”
