There are lots of good web sites out in cyberspace that give valuable advice to home buyers. Often though, a person who wants to research how to go about this has to go to several different web sites to find the information they need. Or, they find that the information is not local enough to completely answer their questions, particularly if they need to find out what local programs are available to help people purchase affordable housing. My own Coldwell Banker United site has lots of valuable buyer help information HERE. Additionally, our Charlotte Regional Realtor Association through its Housing Opportunity Foundation has created a great web site that has collected a full range of information for home buyers, and particularly provides info on local organizations which offer guidance and assistance for local, state and federal home purchase assistance. Yes, for people who have a steady source of income and a good credit history, there are still plenty of programs out there that provide financial assistance. The site is called Carolina Home Programs and is free and available to the public. Check it out HERE.
Its local information covers Mecklenburg, Iredell, and most other surrounding counties.
If you know someone who’s interested in buying a home but may need to seek assistance beyond conventional financing, tell them to check out this site. I’ll be happy to help them find a home, but the assistance provided in programs linked to this site can make the whole process much smoother and with a better outcome.
